Privacy Policy

What we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect:

• Account details — name (if you provide one), email address, and a hashed password when you sign up.
• Watchlist and preferences — items or criteria you choose to watch, target prices, and related alert settings.
• Billing information — subscription status and Stripe customer / subscription identifiers. Card numbers are handled by Stripe; we do not store full card details on our servers.
• Public auction data — lot titles, images, bids, and closing prices we collect from publicly available KOTN pages to build price history. That marketplace data is not typically personal information about you, but it is how the product works.
• Technical information — session tokens so you stay signed in, ordinary server logs for security and reliability, and (if enabled) basic analytics via Google Analytics and bot-protection signals via Cloudflare Turnstile.

Why we collect it

We use this information to:

• Create and run your account
• Show price history, stats, and bid guidance
• Send watchlist / target-price alerts by email when configured
• Process subscriptions through Stripe
• Send transactional email (password reset, welcome, billing)
• Respond to support and privacy requests
• Keep the service secure and improve how it works

We do not sell your personal information.

Where your data lives

Your account and watchlist data are stored in our application database on a private server we operate for Apex Slice. Auction history is stored there as well so we can show trends and verdicts.

The website frontend is hosted on Vercel. Trusted processors include:

• Stripe — subscription payments (may process data outside Canada, including the United States)
• Resend — transactional and alert email
• Cloudflare — Turnstile bot protection on signup (when enabled)
• Google Analytics — usage metrics (when configured)
• Vercel — hosting the public website

These companies only get what they need to provide their service. We choose providers that offer appropriate contractual and security protections.

When information leaves Canada

Because some providers may process information outside Canada — often in the United States — some personal information can be subject to foreign laws while it is handled there. By using the service, you understand that this may happen. We take reasonable steps so our providers protect personal information appropriately.

How long we keep it

We keep account information while your account is active. After you cancel or ask us to delete your account, we may keep limited records for a reasonable time for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution reasons. Aggregated auction history may be retained to keep the product useful for remaining users.

Your choices and rights

Subject to legal limits, you may ask us to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct information that is inaccurate
• Delete your account data

Security

We use industry-standard measures appropriate for a service like ours — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed account passwords, and access controls. No online service can guarantee perfect security.

Cookies and similar technology

We use an httpOnly session cookie so you stay signed in. If Google Analytics or Cloudflare Turnstile is enabled, those services may set their own cookies or similar identifiers according to their policies.

Children

The service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
